Epic Games has finally launched Fab, its new online marketplace for its Unreal Engine, Unity, and other game engines, as well as various DCC tools like Max, Maya, and Blender. Fab was first announced at GDC 2023 and is a unified marketplace of the various marketplaces that Epic Games already controls, including the Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab Store and Quixel Megascans..
It’s important to note that Quixel Megascans assets are available for free for all game engines, but you’ll need to get them before the end of 2024.
Fab is a one-stop shop for finding, buying, selling, and sharing digital assets, and it’s open now.
The service supports all types of content creators for use in Unreal Engine, Unity, Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), and other digital content creation tools. Unreal Engine developers will be able to access Fab directly in the Unreal Engine 5 Editor, and Fortnite creators can find Fortnite assets via Fab in UEFN. Fab’s integration in UEFN is currently undergoing maintenance and will be available again soon, while Fab’s integration in the Unreal Engine 5 Editor is coming soon.
Visit Fab.com today to discover a huge selection of high-quality, real-time game assets, environments, VFX, audio, animations, characters, plugins, and more.
Epic Games is also offering a 6-month subscription to Substance Painter and Modeler for free to anyone who publishes a game to the Fab store or spends $25 or more.
