Developer Ben Coffman has done a great job using Phaser to create a truly new blend of game genres in Spellstrife, and we wish him all the best with his release.
This Plants vs. Zombies-style roguelike takes about an hour to complete each playthrough – choose your upgrades carefully as you climb the spell tower with different classes. Use spells to summon monsters in a tactically deep turn-based combat system.
The initial letter of your word determines which of 26 unique monsters you summon. Uncommon letters are generally stronger, but each monster is useful in different scenarios. The length of the word determines the monster’s HP and attack power. You can also use spells to manipulate the letters or change the battlefield in your favor.
The game is already available for purchase on Steam, and also has a demo version
